Ernesto Wolf's collection of European glass started with his father, Alfred Wolf, in Stuttgart Germany in the 1920s. Due to emigration and economic crises they stopped collecting and could resume the development of their glass collection after 1945. Thanks to close friendships Ernesto was very often given the opportunity to be the first to see pieces which appeared on the market and he was able to purchase the most beautiful objects. Except when they asked absurd prices.
