In 1200 illustrations, supllemented by extensive cataloguing, Photo-realism presented the complete work of 13 major Photorealists and selected works of 15 other artists related to the style. The aim of this massive undertaking was twofold - both to capture contemporaneously an important art style as it was devoloping and to prepare an unimpeachable record for students, scholars, and collectors. And, as a bonus, the book was a dramatic, colorful, and thought-provoking compendium of resonant images from modern-day American popular culture.
