This Liangzhu exhibition was the result of the first co-operation of the Shanghai Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of History.

Liangzhu was a neolithic culture which dated back to 4900 to 3900 before present and discovered at the beginning of the 20th century.

Its finely polished stone tools, black pottery of various types and exquisitely carved large jade ceremonial pieces have arrested the attention of both Chines and overseas scholars.
